Face of the anvil needs to be dressed, but those anvil/vise combos are actually pretty handy to have around. It is not some homemade thing, it is cast. Is marked "380a, Pat'd. 1915 weighs 25 pounds. Current bid $45 the auction ends this Thursday evening.
I am not interested but it is an interesting piece...I have never seen one like it before.
Well, Maybe you should take interest.I am not interested but it is an interesting piece...
I’m set well for anvil and vices. I have a Peddinghaus anvil and a Starret vice. A railroad track anvil that I use for some work and the only one that I allow students to use when I have the rare student in my shop. Multiple vices of various sizes but the Starret is the cream of my crop.Well, Maybe you should take interest.
A small anvil and/or a vice are nice things to have at hand. You can do a lot more things with them than without,,
Agree! You know how auctions can be...Interesting, but not $125 interesting
You are correct, it is hollow. Neat concept but not the greatest execution IMO.I believe that anvil is hollow underneath. Heavy pounding will crack it. I saw one similar at a flea market a few years ago and it was hollow. It would withstand light work though ...
