Wow, a Hudson Valley flint fowling gun, and at only $9,500.00

At that price, Claude can afford to buy all the members with over 5600 post one... :winking: :redthumb:

Heck, I might buy it myself! What with all the Christmas money I got this year, I'm only $9300 short! :: Nice thing about that gun though, you don't have to worry about developing a good follow through after the shot. Once ya start swingin' that much barrel around, you've got no choice BUT to follow through! ::

"...you've got no choice but to follow through

Heck, with a barrel like that you'd powder burn any critter you aimed at! What a hoot to show up at the duck or goose blind and tell your buddies, "Hey, look'it what I got. ya'll hold my beer and watch this!"

With this piece, you'd HAVE to hunt with at least one buddy! One of you would need to hold the gun, while the other one seats the load with that 5 foot ramrod! Also, you'd need to rest that barrel on your buddy's shoulder to take a shot! ::

That'd be a "buddy" alright! Think we're getting back to musket rests again!! Stick it in a yoke and round-and-round you'd go. Loading those things from a standing postion must have made for interesting technique. Just think, you could whack off about 4 or 5 inches of stock up front and fit a bayonet!! Talk about being the "funny guy" at militia muster!!!
