I was wandering if any has one.I am having problems with the rear sight.I dont have a mic so I was wandering if that is a 3/8 dove tail.Any help will be appericated. Also if someone can give me any info on where to get parts.

Maybe he did what I did on my first kit build, and lost the durn thing. I'll look in my track catalog to see if they have any info. Back later.

I have an Investarms .50 cal flintlock with the adjustable sight and this is the same company that makes Lyman rifles.

I think that a Lyman rear sight should just drift into the notch on the barrel and you have several choices of rear sights from Lyman.

Track catalog calls it out as .360, which means you could take a 3/8ths base rear sight and fit it with some file work. Or a lot of file work, depending on your level of experience.

cduncan,
I'm with Alberta Jack on this one. Parts from Lyman should be interchangeable with the
Investarms.
snake-eyes :hmm:

My Investarms Hawken dose'nt have a rear dovetail, the rear sight is held on the barrel with a couple of small screws.

Lyman products should have the sights/parts you need, as Investarm supplies many of thier muzzleloaders. www.lymanproducts.com. On page 36 of thier current catalog they show sights, and accessories, for ML's.

A while back... I had a "Charles Daly" Investarms Hawken that also used two screws to mount the rear sight. I have never seen another like it, and while I'm familiar with the Charles Daly name regarding other items, I did not know that there were any muzzleloaders that Investarms had manufactured for them.

I recall that mine shot very well (it was a .50cal) but the stock had just a little more drop than was comfortable for me when shooting heavier hunting loads. I swapped it even up for a T/C Renegade .54 cal with single trigger. Even though that single trigger was exceptionally nice, I missed having the double set triggers on the Charles Daly/Investarms. It had one of the lightest (yet still safe) trigger pulls that I've ever used on a muzzleloader.

Regards, and shoot safely!

I had a dovetail cut and installed a hawken style sight on my old investarm. I got that sand cast sight from Dixie years ago. It worked well. It also looks better than that big square thing. The adjustment screw would spin every time I fired the rifle and it would not hold a zero. That's why I switched it out. Is that the problem that you are having with the sight?

That adjustable scew moved every time I wiped the gun down so I used lock tight on it now it stays in place.

That's interesting as my .54 Cal. Investarms Hawkens form Cabelas also has the screw in rear sight too. :hmm:

TOW has Investarms/Lyman/Cabela's rear sights under "Gun Parts"

What is or where is TOW to get a replacement rear sight for my Charles Daley 50cal by Investarms? I also have the 2 screws holding the sights in place on the barrel. Sorry couldn't find the TOW site to look...

Thnaks for the info.Mine has a dove tail.It is hinged with a roll pin and has a spring and screw for the up and down adjustment. It has lot of move ment in the rear site and I cant get it sited in.

Duncan,

That movement is a chronic problem with those sights. The ears are a bit too far apart for accuracy when you adjust the sights upwards at all.

You can correct this by doing some careful pressing with a vise followed by some filing and polishing to make that one work. I have done 2 that way and obtained good results.

However, I put a Lyman 57 GPR tang sight on my GPR and this is so much better that I have tossed the old sigh t in a box somewhere. It is a bit pricey, but is a pleasure to shoot.
