I DONT WANT TO SOUND DUMB BY ASKING DAD HE ALWAYS TELLING ME YOU DONT KNOW TILL YOU ASK OR TRY IT YOUR SELF, INVESTARMS SEEMS TO MAKE A LOT OF RIFLES UNDER OTHER NAMES LYMAN , CABELLAS, ECT COULD I PUT ONE OF THE DROP IN BARRELS FROM DIXIE THE GREEN MOUNTAIN INTERCHANGEABLE BARREKL SYSTEM ?IN CABELLAS THEY CLAIM THE TRADE , HAWKIN ECT WILL ALL CHANGE ID LIKE A LONG BARREL FOR MINE THANK YOU. BLAINE

fw: I'm going to make a guess. It might be right or it might be wrong but as your talking about spending somewhere over $150 it's worth thinking about.

I have looked thru the Dixie Catalog and it seems to me that most of the barrels they offer as "Interchangeable Barrels System" are made for Thompson Center rifles.
They say the barrels "Will not fit CVA, Traditions or guns made in Spain. Of course, this doesn't include the Investarms guns because they are made in Italy, but they don't say they will fit these Italian guns.

I also note they list seperately, barrels to convert a GPR into a GPH (Great Plains Hunter, fast twist/shallow grooves for sabots).

The big problem as I see it for using a Green Mountain barrel on your Investarms is that all of the Green Mountain barrels I've ever worked with have Inch type threads in the breech.
Most of the forign guns use Metric threads.
If you were trying to fit a Metric Breech Plug into a barrel with Inch type threads, you couldn't do it, so, unless the barrel comes with a breech plug that will work with your guns breech tang, you would be up the creek.

"15/16" Octagon barrels fit the T/C 15/16" Hawken Pennsylvania Hunter & Carbine, Cabela's Hawken, Investarms Hawken, Lyman Trade Rifle, Lyman Deerstalker & Cargbine, by adding an extra barrel lug it will fit the Lyman Great Plains Rifle."

Hope this is what you're looking for

It doesnt look like I can do this before dad gets out, what I was looking at is the CABELAS ad for GREEN MOUNTAIN replacement barrels it goes " fits tc hawken, renegade, big bore ,lyman trade and deerstalker, Cabelas and kassnar hawkens I was just thinking if it fits those it should mine , the dixie is a drop in too for tcs guess Ill just call. thank you , BLAINE

Zonie,
I have purchased 2 of G/M IBS barrels in .36 & .45
cal. for use in my Investarms Hawkens. These barrels come
breeched with adj. sites, ram rod etc.. When they say
"drop in" that is preaty much exactly what they are. On the
.45cal i did have to shorten the under barrel rid to fit
the barrel channel and i replaced the ram rod. The price you suggest is about right or a little more.
I would suggest anyone interested in a GM IBS barrel
to deal directly with GM as they are very easy to work with.

Not sure what Cabela's price is for GM barrels but TOW has GM barrels ~$40 cheaper than GM itself. Just ordered one for myself.....

Mad Professor,
Is that for the IBS barrel or just a barrel??
Not doubting just wondering?
