Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the same company that makes the Lyman Great Plains Rifle, also makes the Investarms Hawkens'... As far as I know, they're a good rifle. Popular at rendezvous... Was there some particular things you need to know? :)

Well a little,,what do ya wanna know??

I think but don't quote me,, they hit the market in the mid 80's, it was Lymans responce to the market glut of the T/C Hawkin.
Italian made as they are today and still reliable-good shooters if the Hawkin frame fit's you. The same rifle is still made for Cabelas by Lyman today ,the only differance is the Cabelas logo is barrel stamped. Some of the early/early models where slow twist full iron bore,,but most are shallow grooved nickle-plated 1-48's. With practice these rifles will train the owner to shoot well :winking:
All the lock parts are readily available, many after market sights are available also,, and they will execept the 15/16" GM I.B.S barrels.
Off the top of my bald-spot, if you've found one your looking to buy,,$150 would be a good deal maybe $200 if in really great shape,,after all Cabelas sells'm fer near 300 and then you get full warrenty.
that's my two bit's,,,,,
