About a month ago i decided that i needed a new black powder rifle but i wasn't sure exactly what . I ordered 6 catalogs and paid for them with my Visa card . Track Of The Wolf arrived within a few days as did the Austin & Halleck . Nothing else yet . Business would be good if it wasn't for those damed customers .

atr: Yeah. Name 'em.
you'd be surprised at the responses I've gotten from bad business partices by just metioning that this is the computer age!

Dixie , Pedersoli , Navy Arms and i'll have to wait until my Visa bill arrives to recall the other one . Dixie is the one that ticks me off because although it hasn't been for quite awhile , a few years ago i spent a small fortune buying from them . If they searched thier customer records they'd see that the 5 bucks i paid for thier catalog a month ago would have been a good investment . I'm not a window shopper . If i decide i want guns or accessories , i buy them but when you don't even recieve a catalog that you paid for a month ago customer service ain't what it used to be .

I was in recent contact with Pedersoli over a link request deal, they (Pedersoli Co.) told me that they're on summer vacation for the month of August...

I'm sure that their catalog will be sent ASAP...

A company that shuts down for a whole month dosen't need business and won't get mine.
Dixie was much to slow getting atr's catalog out. Track sent mine in less'n 10 days. Dixies last one to me a couple years ago was 10 days. A month is too long. Period.
I bought a rechargeable varmint light last year. The charger unit was bad and caught fire when plugged into the wall socket. Not good.
I called the company and complained, explaining that I would blast the company on every talk forum I could get on to.
Within FIVE days I had..
1) a complete new light with charger
2) the next more expensive model light
3) a spare rechargeable battery
4) TWO new l.e.d. headlamps with colored lenses.
Now there's a company that recognizes the power of the internet.
This forum has power, we are over 1000 strong.
I work for General Motors. Out plant employs over 4000 people with heavy wallets. There is power there too.
This forum is home to over 1000 potential customers. There's real power in that. :nono:

Give The Log Cabin Shop in Lodi OH a try. As a "for instance", I placed an internet order Wednesday evening and had the stuff at my house on Friday AM. They are the next state over but that is still quick. If you order in the AM, they usually ship that afternoon.

Pedersoli is Italian. The Europeans often take long vacations and it's common throughout the continent. A lot of companies give 8-10 weeks a year and it's easier to shut the whole place for a month than have people dribble in and out all year.

Re bad catalog responses, I simply buy stuff off websites. A catalog is nice to consult but if you are in a hurry, just buy it real time and have it shipped the next business day.

One thing to note about that is a lack of complete listings. Dixie, for example, has so many items in their inventory that they don't have a lot of the smaller items on the website. It would take forever to create a page with a photo on the website for every one of the thousands of small items they have in their catalog, so you need the catalog to see just how much stuff they really sell. If you're only going by the website, you're missing out on an awful lot of stuff.

It seems strange that this would happen with four companies at the same time. I wonder if there was a problem with the credit card and for some reason the transaction didn't go through...?

My cousin got the same results. He paid for a Navy Arms catalog 6 months ago and called them every month after and still did not get his catalog yet. If I were you I would not hold my breath for the N.A. catalog. Pooor business qualities.
