My first BP firearm was a nice brass-framed Pietta 1858 (New Model Army). As my disease grew worse, I acquired a classic TC Hawken rifle in .50 caliber, then a "Trapper" percussion pistol by Traditions and finally its "Kentucky" cousin. Along the way, I sold the 1858 brasser and the Trapper, but quickly felt the weight of my misguided choice. Today I have repented with the purchase a gently-used Pietta 1858 in stainless steel. Can I be cured?? :haha:

The only cure will be to ship me ALL of your BP firearms immediately so I can un-hex them for you. Then after you send them to me you will need to rapidly buy a set of golf clubs and a membership to the local country club.
It is the only way as I am the only proper witch around these parts who knows the right incantations that will set you free.

I hate golf and the "witch thing" actually scares me more than my disease. Guess I will get my affairs in order as this is likely to be terminal...

then I fear the worse for ya

some day there will be enough firearms in your safe that it will require porters to bring them all to the range

then you will think back and wonder why you didn't take me up on the offer

(have fun)
:)

 I've heard of your treatment plan before but never knew any one who took the cure. If you find some one to take the cure can you send be his name as I would like to play some monte with him

I'm sendin for my tenth revolver Friday - not that I have only owned ten over he years but I currently have nine sitting here

Curable? I damn well hope not

Ever heard of the 12 step plan? Each time you buy one you need to step-up to the next level so by the time you hit #12 you've bought yourself a $7000 custom longrifle. You may be content by then.

It's a virus that's transmitted in the smoke of burning black powder. It has also been known to be transmitted through the eyes. So far there is no cure although some have have adapted and learned to live with it. Rather than search for a cure, take pain medication in the form of more bp firearms.

Im thinking I need a smoothbore. I may have a barrel bored out. Cost less and I'm strapped now but the symptoms have yet to lessen. Safety says I should first save for the sewing machine and buy both at the same time. At least the wife isn't afflicted, Then we'd be bankrupt (she a random purchase type)

Cure...I don't want no stink'n cure...just another fix man! My dealer says he's my friend and he'll take care of me...but I'm really jones'n and he always wants too much money...I can't help myself guess I'll just have to get that .40 cal full stocked curly maple hawk'n thats been driving me crazy! Save yourselves if you want, but as for me...give me my.40 or give me death! :blah:

What the heck good is money anyway! You can't eat it and it carries germs. These days the bank considers paying interest using a guide written by Ebeneezer Scrooge. I consider true wealth to be a full freezer and a full gun safe. Yup, when you're smitten by the black powder bug, just consider yourself one of the rare "lucky one's". An elite group to be sure!

I found a cure. If you limit yourself to the number of slots in the safes and gunracks (all mine lock) you reach a cap. Problem is there are corners and you can buy more "slots."

put briefly,

no

There is no cure. The symptoms may be alleviated somewhat by a liberal application of barrels, locks, possible bags and such. Even with intense counseling it is like malaria and never possible to shake it completely. Think of black powder as the Quinine for the condition. With great will power you should be able to follow my example and limit your habit to one per month. Although I admit I recently suffered a relapse and 4 new muzzleloaders suddenly appeared on empty hooks in the gun cabinet. Honey honestly, I have no idea how.......
