This afternoon I finally finished the York rifle I've been building for my father. This is the first gun I've ever built, and let me say to those who do this professionally, semi-professionally, or just for kicks: I understand. I understand why you do it. This has got to be the most satisfying thing I've ever built. I've done a lot of cabinetry and some furniture, but this was way different. I want to thank everyone who gave advice. I'll post pics when I get a chance. I don't own a digital camera, so it may be a while. Thanks again!

Congratulations! The feeling just gets better when you first shoot it and then when you harvest game with it. Please post some pictures when you can.

Congratulations! I'm with you, it is very satisfying to make one of these yourself. Even more so when you fire it.

I know exactly how you feel. Now you'll want to do another, then another ...

Look forward to some pics when you get the chance.
