Does anybody know anything about an iver johnson over under rifle in 50 cal.I have found one new in the bos for 400.00 and have never seen one nor know its value. Is it a good deal or would I be getting ripped off. Thanks everybody I need your help on this one.

I have looked into a bunch of IJ stuff and I have never heard of an O/U rifle from them of any kind. I would be interested to hear more about this piece.

Regards, sse

According to the 1997 Blue Book of Gun Values Iver Johnson made a .50 caliber over/under. It has separate hammers and triggers. Color case hardened hammer and furniture.
It was made in Jackson, Ar.
In 1997 the used gun values for this rifle were:
100% finish $400
98% finish $300
95% finish $250

From what I've seen, the value of BP rifles hasn't changed much in the last 7 years so I suspect these prices would be fair today.
