I would like to have a look at some web photos of a Beck rifle and am having trouble finding. Can someone point me in the right direction to have a look at these rifles? Thanks.

look at George Shumway "Rifles Of Colonial America"{RCA}Vol.II PP.430-445 and Joe Kindig Jr."Thoughts on the Kentucky Rifle in it's Golden Age" PP.242-253. These two books show a number of examples of Beck's work.Shumway is the better of the two because he shows multiple views of each rifle as well as dimensions

Echo Okwaho.
I got these two books out on a inter-library loan, cost me $2.00 a book. Saved me from having to buy each one. They have great pictures, should give you some good ideas.

Bummer on the two bucks a book, here in AZ, InterLibrary Services are free, I use it quite frequently.

Tuco, GUNSMITHS OF LANCASTER COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA by James B. Whisker has a few of his on pages 69-74, 144-145, 176-178. Also, THE KENTUCKY RIFLE A TRUE AMERICAN HERITAGE IN PICTURE by The Kentuchy rifle Association on pages 12-14, Also KENTUCKY RIFLES AND PISTOLS 1750-1850 by The Golden Age Arms Company and James R. Johnston on pages 82-87, & 87,94.Also in STEEL CANVAS by R.L. Wilson on pages 45 & 66.

George and those others of you who are interested in fine early Kentucky rifles, "Steel Canvas" shows on P.38 the only known signed Andreas Albrecht rifle in it's restored condition. Unfortunately only the carved side is shown but itis a wood box gun. The gun in it's unrestored condition is showm on PP.198-202 Shumway RCA Vol.I.Just a little rifle trivia.

If you're interested, I know an old guy that has an original, at least it says J.P.Beck on the rifle someplace. I haven't seen it in a while but this guy is selling it for under $500. Its a half stock with a 1 1/4 or 1 1/8 barrel, maybe 45cal. and I think a back action lock. Its been a number of years since I've seen it, and I'm sure he said its a Beck. He may be full of hot air but he's usually pretty accurate. He's got it stuck up in the rafters of his log cabin.
I could put you in touch with him if there is any interest.

Well, that settles that question. Now I won't have to worry about not getting that important original rifle from him before it or he is gone.
