Jackie Brown barrel ?

I have a oct to round barrel and I want to put a rear site on it the front site is soldered on is there any reason to not cut dovetails on the rear

I assume you’re gonna cut a reasonable dove tail on the flat of a 20ga smooth bore barrel. There’s no problem when done correctly. I have one with the Yeager style rear sight.
