Left handed people often are not totally left but a mixture of functions. Do some things with one hand and other things with the other. And which eye is dominant definitely plays into all of that. I grew up shooting rifle left, pistol right, writing and painting left, rock throwing right and wing shooting both. So of course now I shoot whatever I get me hands on.

I'm a brand spankin' new Jaeger owner as of last week! Got a nice .58 built by some guy in Georgia name of Roy Stroh, don't know if you've ever heard of him - looks like he knows his stuff from what I can see(!).

Lifting it to my shoulder is a dream. 7 lbs + a little. I've yet to fire it but that time is coming FAST!

Dang, that is one nice rifle, I'd be afraid to shoot it for fear I would ding it up....

After the many pictures and comments about Jaeger rifles I am convinced I NEED ONE. A 54 cal, probably built for me as I have not yet the courage to build my own. A right or left handed one would work since I am left eye dominant and do many things lefty but write righty.

Get back to work! You got some stitchin' to do, Amigo!

Yessir, it took awhile for the "right moment" and I'm sure glad I recognized it when it came. I tell ya, I've always been one to sing the praises of the long barrel but this lil' flinter just feels so good when I bring it to my shoulder it appears an old dog like me can learn some new tricks.

The second is by Hermann Bongarde in Duesseldorf. Bongarde was one of the most incredible gunsmiths of all time. The half stocking was in emulation of Spanish and Italian style. Italian guns are awesome.

Sorry to go off on a tangent but I have a question. In the American Longrifle site library under Peter Neuhard there is a Gottschaulk Jaeger rifle with what appears to be an octagonal to round barrel. Not often do I see octagonal to round barrels on Jaeger rifles. My question is this... Is the Gottschaulk rifle an emulation of Spanish or Italian style also? Again I appologize for straying.

I can't find that gun anywhere, so I can't see it, but yes, I'm sure you'll find an octagon to round rifle barrel every once in a while. I wonder if it's straight rifled.... does it have a rear sight???
