This is a very accurate P53 Enfield reproduction by James River, featuring a Hoyt Barrel and reproduction stock stamps. I've used it to introduce young shooters to blackpowder shooting. I'd typically bring this and a Snider, as well as a cap and ball revolver and Colt conversion, to youth events to show kids how cartridge arms developed from muzzleloaders. Since rifled muskets are so accurate and easy to load, it was a great initial introduction to muzzleloading. There's nothing like hitting a steel gong at 50 and 100 yards to fire a kids interest in shooting. For better or worse, most people pursue those interests they think they're good at, and consistently hitting what you aim at increases interest.
