Hawken made by JD Anderson of Tullahoma, TN. 58 cal, walnut stocked, iron mounted Hawken. L&R lock, no barrel maker's name on the barrel. Poured pewter nose cap, captured keys, hooked/slant breech. Barrel is 1" x 34 1/2". One dent in the RH butt stock, shallow scratch on the side plate, one dent on the LH nose near the nose cap. The stock flares just a bit near the nose cap on the bottom side. Don't know if that is correct, but I haven't seen it before. Rifle is numbered 171. 14 1/2" length of pull, 52" overall length, 3 1/4" drop at the heel, 9lb 7oz. $2000 shipped to conus 48. According to another MLF member, David Wright used one of JD Anderson's rifles as a "model" for the print.

Free bump...John mentored me during a some of my first builds nearly fifty years ago. He built quite a few walnut stocked Hawken style rifles. The rifle in the print is indeed John's personal Hawken that David used as a model. It was examined years ago by John Baird of "The Hawken Rifle" fame. He declared it spot on. That, of course, was a bunch of years ago.
