Are Jeager triggerguards partially inletted, or are they flush mounted? The one I have will be screw mounted front and back.

They are fully inlet, unless you're building a very early period gun.
I'd also pin the front extension. Screws weren't used in that application.

I have seen a few (very few) photos of germanic rifles with screws in front and back of the trigger guard and this is how I made mine. For some reason I had no way to pin the front of mine so I took the easy way out but obviously this was not commonly done. Mine is slightly inletted. This may not be as sturdy as a pin up front but I haven't had any trouble.

They should be inletted to the rounded edge of the guard. Nutherwords the straight sides of the guard inletted up to where it rounds over..
If you have room for a screw you usually have room for a front pin to be hidden under the lock inlet. If you need a photo of how to do this I should have some here I can email you.

Sometimes I have to cut off the lug & move it on the triggerguards & silver solder it back on, but that is an acceptable method of getting it where I want it & it is not a big deal, plus getting all the RR in the RR hole necessary & the two of them not conflicting.......

That's what happened. The front lug was in a bad place so I ground it off and used a screw. I don't know how to silver solder so I took the lazy way out. In hind sight, I should've let a pro build it for me.

On one early 18th century German gun I have, the tenon is iron, and APPARENTLY is threaded to the brass guard? (there is no visible evidence of solder). I would guess that the cast-in brass tenon had enough of a flaw to necessitate cutting it off and attaching a new one. Otherwise, the guard is BEAUTIFULLY cast and finished, though relatively plain.
