In another thread there's mention of a book on Southron mountain rifles by Jerry Noble. This is one I've missed. Anyone know where I can get a copy?

Jerry Nobel
414 N.E. 7th Ave.
Aledo, Ill
Ph# 309-582-2852

Unless the address and phone have changed, that's how to contact him. Call for the price and mail him a check. He has "Notes on Southern Long Rifles" Vol I and Vol II. Vol III should be ready bythe end of this month I THINK.

The first book lists a lot of makers and data with some pictures.

The second has a lot more photos.

I was not aware that there was a third in production -- I need to give Jerry a call.

Do you know what the focus of this work is?

There's a volume 3 now? Does he finally identify that mule? ::

Please post if you can confirm. Looks like I'll have to send him some more ducats.

  The mule has not been identified. Vol.III is more of I and II. When I talked to him he said end of Feb. or early March it would be ready. That was only a couple of weeks back. He already has enough info for a Vol. IV. Unfortunatly most came from a friend of his that had been in muzzle loading for years and has recently passed away. I was glad to hear that he would publish the information and it would not be lost.
