I just purchased "The engraved powder horn" book by Jim Dresslar.
I noticed that a lot of the original pictures depicted in the book show a red stain color in the engraving.
It confirms that the original artists used other color(s) besides black to decorate the engraving and their horns.
I was wondering why we don't see many more examples decorated like that in the horns produced today by the contemporary artists.
Thank you,
Billk
