JP Clabrough Double Barrel

One more English double to show. This one is a JP Clabrough sporting Birmingham proofs from the 1865 era. It is 10 gauge and 32" barrels. The barrels ring nicely but do have some minor pitting in the bores.

Very nice. I have a JP Clabrough 10 gauge too. Unfortunately mine has a badly broken stock and the rest is a basket case even though it is all there. I wish mine was a third as nice.

Thanks. I also have a very nice Clabrough from the first year they produced breech loaders. I had a couple of other Clabroughs as well but foolishly sold them. Clabroughs typically don't fetch the money like a lot of other antique English guns but nothing wrong with their quality in my opinion.

Didn’t they moved to California at some point and continue producing there for a time.

If I remember correctly they did set up shop in California for awhile. It might have been just more of a retail outlet.
