Hi folks, quick question. I contacted Robert Hoyt about re-rifling my Pedersoli Amarican Jaeger rifle, real nice guy, been down for a few months but is back up and going but starting to get busy already so I need to get this off to him. He said to just send the barrel, no problem, but I haven't been able to get back to him, forgot to ask if he wants me to remove the breach plug, sights and pin tabs, what do you guys think, especially any who have worked with him? I'm not really set up to remove the breach but will give it a go if you think he wants me to do so. It took me three weeks and a dozen phone calls to finally get through to him, not sure I want to wait that long again.

Send it as is, he'll remove the breech plug and sometimes you might get it back with the front sight removed depending on how he has to hold the barrel in the lathe.

Thanks guys, that is the way I will send it. If I can get it too him soon enough he figured I would have it back in six to eight weeks, which is just perfect. Thanks again.

Ok, I sent the barrel off about three and a half weeks ago, Mr. Hoyt said that he had something coming up and if he didn't get too it right away it might be delayed for a month or two, got home today and there was a box on my front porch, sure enough, my barrel was home and the work is beautiful, I couldn't be happier. I can't believe how fast he was able to turn this around, price was more than reasonable for all he had to do, and as I said, the rifling looks wonderful, will get it out in the next week or so and see how it loads and shoots, ordered me some .58 round ball in anticipation so I'm all set to go, just need to make the time. Robert is a great guy to work with, thanks to every one who suggested I send it too him, best advice I could have gotten.

I have had 4 barrels done by bob. always friendly a excellent service and results. if he thinks a customers request is not safe or unclear he calls and does not proceed.

Yup....when I need something done, I just write a note, slip a c note in a envelope, and wrap it around the barrel.....send it off.
Later it will be back with a bill for any more charges.....or just done if that covered it.....great fella......
