I was hunting with my jukar 45 cal. When i shot the rifle the niple blew out of the gun. It had the correct nipple in it, but the threads were really worn(rifle side). Can i change the part the nipple screws into? Where could i locate the part. I am new here and i really love this web site. Thanks in advance for the advice.

If you have a micrometer measure the hole in the bolster or drum (part that the nipple screws into) then check with trackofthewolf.com and see if they have a larger nipple that could be installed.
If you are not handy with tapping thread holes your local gunsmith will probably do this for $5 or $10. This will be easier than finding and installing the replacement part. If possible I would go with a standard size as it will be easier to find nipples for.

DGW used to list over sized thread nipples for just this purpose.
might be worth looking into...
or....
tap out to 1/4x28tpi and put a american threaded nipple in.

The Dixie Catalog says the Spanish Rifles CVA (Jukar etc.) use a 6mm X 1 threaded nipple.

This nipple would have roughly a .235 outside diameter with about 25.4 threads per inch.

As the threads in the drum are badly damaged I must assume there isn't much if any threaded material in the hole so, for all intents and purposes lets say there is just enough material to make a minor diameter for the new thread of .234.

A 28 pitch thread needs to have about .035 worth of thread between the minor diameter and the major diameter.
Taking the .234 diameter drill (15/64 diameter) and cleaning up the existing hole and then retapping with a Track of the Wolf .270-28 tap (#Tool-Tap-20) will fix the hole.
Then by buying a .020 oversize nipple (Track of the Wolf # ROS-20S) your gun will be back in operation. :)

Note: When redrilling the hole it is very important to align the drill with the axis of the existing hole to prevent creating an oversize entrance diameter. Also, drill to the full depth of the existing hole but do not drill deeper.
To obtain enough "full threads" for the nipple the tap may require shortening it slightly to eliminate the chamfer but do not do this until you have fully tapped the hole as far as the tap will go without bottoming out.

Deer Creek should have a new drum. As the CVA was made at the factory were the Jukar comes from. The way to take off the Drum is get a piece of copper tubing, split with hacksaw, put on drum and clamp on big pair of visegrips, hold barrel in hand and hit the grips with a hard rubber hammer, it will spin loose. They are toruqued on according to my CVA catlog, don't say how much. You can take off a drill chuck this same way, it works. You want to take of counter-clock ways. Dilly

Boar-dilly is right. My son-in-law has a .45 Jukar Kentucky and the bore was all rusted. I contacted Deer Creek and was able to buy a new barrel (in the white) with the drum and clean-out screw installed. They carry almost everything you need for a Jukar or the older CVAs. I don't remember their number, but it's mentioned several times in the forum.

Deer Creeks no is 765-525-6181. There the one to contact. Dilly

Thanks for all of the great info. I hope to get her up and firing. Does deercreek have a website?
