truly think thats the reason w have those rapid fire nitro-cellulose brass cased firearms.

This doesn't surprise me a bit. Think about it. NO...I am NOT a animal rights nut. However, as humans sprawl out in thier search for "space"...what does one expect? We have the same problem here in CO...no..not as bad, but every year some dimwit builds a home in the high country away from the stress and such and lo and behold Buffy gets eaten by a cougar. Some other twit decides to go jogging and is attacked by one. I figure if someone wants to live out "there" they at least ought to be aware what lives out there also....and act accordingly. And they say we don't have a over population problem...damm..wonder what this place will be like 50 years from now.

Then there are the Californicans, whose totem is the mountain lion. Its so sacred you can't shoot one even if it is eatin' you! :nono:

As well it should be. We got a lot more Californians than pumas.

It's like sharks and New Jerseyites. Alaskan's and grizzleys. French and Germans. Makes like sweeter if there's something still out there what might eat ya.

There's WAY too much truth to that statement, and these are just the ones that get reported, My friend in Riverside county had his dog let him know one was after his horse in his back yare, the horse fought back givin him time to get his weapon, He shot it but never said a thing bout it,, Gave his dog a BIG steak diner, Then we got the black bears out there ,, there's lot on them also, Had one in Cherry Vally bite off a camper's toes while he was sleepin in his tent, That was it the horse park, They have a lot of horse only campin out there and they keep us off in the back,

funny you should say that, as I was typin that out I was thinkin there isn't a darn thin here cept for coyotes, I know it's sounds dumb, but I do (in a way) miss the excitement of keepin my eye open,, People here in Kentucky think California is just all like la, I tell em you can ride a horse for days out in ca and not even SEA a house, and when you do , it might take nother day or 2 to get to it,, Don't get me wrong, I like Ky, I think the highest hill they got here is under 700 ft, but out west my mail box was at 1620 ft, the top of my rock was 1740 ft,15 minuets ridin out my back yard and I would be lookin down on my place, Yet, when I went to the uphighs they would call me a flat lender

Now that's a real circus when a bear comes down into one of the foothill communities like Sunland/Tujunga or Altadena. The Sheriff's Dept. generally ends up shootin' it, but man, the chase with the tv crews, deputies, and bear is somethin' to behold. :results:

yep, and the city folk can do some of the dumbest things round them, the last one I seen before I left was the bear that came down into San Dimas and one boy went out and HAND fed it,, said he wasn't worried bout it, he would wrestle it down, It was only bout 250/300 lbs,, (i think )
