Here's a picture of my Traditions .50 cal, 1:48, Hawken St. Louis that I just finished.

:hatsoff: Fine looking job. I'll bet you enjoyed building it. But the real fun is about to begin, get 'er out there and start shooting.

I used Minwax Red Mahogany #225 for the stain and then finished with four coats of semi-glass polyurethane (lightly sanded between coats). Not the traditional stock finish but I was very pleased with the results.
 
I had a great time finishing this gun and learned a lot in the process. This is my first muzzleloader and now I can't wait to to start another one. Plan on shooting this one this coming weekend. Have to make a trip to my favorite outdoor store and pick up a few supplies and then its straight to the firing range.
 
Nice job! It looks like the color came out really nice. I hope it shoots as good as it looks.
