I just finished this up and delivered it a friendship last weekend.
It has original 14 ga damascus percusion barrels, L&R "Bailes" locks Rifle Shoppe parts and an english walnut stock. It still wasn't quite done at this point, but you'll get the idea. :winking:
The first pic is a link because it is too big...

The new owner shot a few shots on paper, and it shoots nice patterns out of both barrels.

I noticed there are "wooden" flints installed, I use them as practice flints for dry firing...

I do the same thing during construction. Keeps me from slicing myself to bits during the "trial and error" period of building. I will generally ship with "woodies" in place.
As a side note....I just came upstairs to staunch a geyser exiting from one of my fingers.....I hate it when that happens..... :shake:

That is really nice. I wonder how you came to work on the gun. Is it put together from a variety of parts? Where did the original bores come from? Did you just have them laying around the shop? Need a lot more info to get the story on the gun!!!

Regards, sse

I had a customer order this gun 2 or 3 years ago. The barrels are from an original damascus barreled percusion shotgun. All of the hardware except for the locks and standing breech are from the Rifle Shoppe. The locks are from L&R. The standing breech and breech plugs are home made. The barrels have been shortened at the breech so they could be rethreaded with a more standard thread pitch. The muzzles were cut back to eliminate the ram rod wear. The bores have been honed to get them slicked up. I've probably had the barrels 8 or ten years. I buy barrels that are in good shape when ever I see them, especially the smaller bores.
I stocked the gun from a curly piece of english walnut.

Mike very nice indeed great work love the wood i kept looking at it and said that has to be curly walnut, didnt read all of your disc at the top. Should be a pleasure to shoot. How do you do as far as getting parts from the Rifle Shop ?
