Just wanted to thank you folks for helping me out and post the results. I posted a request about 10 days ago pursuant to buying a Blue ridge flintlock (Pedersoli) and got many good suggestions. One of which was to get a custom rifle as 700 bucks kinda on the high end for a Blue Ridge. A friend offered me a safe queen for 650.00 that he had built years ago and never been fired. It’s a 58 cal and comprised of a Green Mountain Barrel. Siler lock and forgot the frizzen manufacture. Anyway to say the least, I am pleased. I don’t know anything about flints other than I wanted one. I am finding a whole different knowledge base is ahead. I guess the point here is when you guys and gals provide inputs to us 77 year old beginners, I listen and hope others do also. Thanks all Jerry a.k.a Fallon Kid

I'm glad I found this site, too. Thanks to the people that started it and keep it going.

Thank You. The dog is Fast Eddie. 16 years now. If he could say a few words it would be , "if ya need me I'll be on the couch"
Tryin to find all he stuff IE: jags brushes etc. . I have two percussion .451 cal long guns but .575 is mighty big. Also noticed all my stuff is 8-32 and seems bigger bores are 10-32. Not sure the reason other than bigger needs more metal. Also finding round ball molds are very scarce. I purchased to conical molds .575 but still in mail so don't know what they actually drop at. Interesting times but as long as we are having fun doing what we love, who cares. Jerry

I accidentally bought a few tools in both 8-32 and 10-32. Ended up getting an adapter to compensate. Been wanting to build a 58 cal but until recently I hadn’t found a .575 round ball mold. Now I’ve got the mold, so I guess I have no reason not to do the build!
