I find this particular rifle to be in the "artistic showpiece" genre. While I am certain it will function just fine, I am also certain it will never be put to the typical every day use that a less ornate rifle will endure. That is fine. I can appreciate the effort, skill and time it takes to make such a rifle. However, for me now (72) the rifles' that are of a more simple but still refined nature with only minimal carving or enhancements suit me best. I find a Fusil de Chase, nice Fowler, Long Rifle or NWT gun to be just as beautiful, in their own way when done well. Just one mans opinion.
