I have heard of BP absorbing moisture(?) but isnāt this mostly a āafterburnā issue when the BP undergoes a radical change after combustion?

My understanding is that you are short on 4F and tried to save what you brushed out for reuse after having to drive from place to place and want to make sure it is dry it. Have I got that right?
Simple answer is yes. I agree with @Brokennock and would probably save that powder for range time. Un-prime into a plastic bag, transfer it to a small container and use a desiccant pack. It should be fine.
That said, some good advice on keeping your pan dry, but it doesn't help if you have to clear the pan to put the gun in a vehicle.

You are correct in your assumption. I will keep this all in mind.
Yes, i have two bottles. It doesn't take much, and using too much will cause problems of its own. I would try it out on a smaller amount before adding it to an entire pound. One of the problems is, it's so light in weight, it's difficult to measure. They sell it by volume. If they sold it by weight, you would think they were giving you an empty bottle.

Wonder powder certainly does repel water. However, if you accidently use too much, it will also repel sparks. The powder is almost weightless. If you stick your finger in the bottle, you would not even feel the powder. Your finger will remain bone dry if you run water over it.
Actually, Wonder Powder has been around for a long time. I've known about it around 30 years ago. It's not advertised too well. If you fish, you can use it on flies as well.

I prefer the first one , without the button..
The straps on it are weighted and stay put with one simple wrap ā¦ easily removed without cold fingers fumbling with a small button or snap.

I want some of that magic, self drying powder they used in the Last Of The Mohicans. As I recall, they had to leap from the waterfall because their powder was "soaking wet". And, then were able to mercifully dispatch Maj. Heyward and fight on the mountain trail all without having to replace their powder.
And I want that cap n ball pistol that Leonardo DiCaprio shot ten times like a semi-automatic pistol in the dumbest movie I've ever seen "The Revenant"
I would not say that movie was dumb at all being every movie from flintlocks to machine guns they never run out of ammo. the movie showed how hard life was then and the actors and crew suffered immensely in the cold with half the crew quitting. you had to be a tough Mo Fo to be in that movie and when people make that kind of effort and suffer like that I would never belittle them or the movie
I will humbly disagree. He is trying to survive in extreme cold and he jumps in the river wearing every stitch of clothing he owns ....... instant death sentence. If the director had half a brain, he would have known that showing him build his fire, get butt naked and jump in, and come out with his fish, AND SURVIVE!
It's one thing for the director to take creative liberty, it's another to show semi-automatic fire from a cap and ball pistol in a time period set before the revolver was even invented.
Almost as bad as "The Deer Hunter" where they travel an hour north of Pittsburgh, to the Allegheny Nation Forest and arrive in the Rockies, above tree line, drinking beer, and shooting Red Stag deer, which don't even exist in this country.

Granted, almost all movies cross the line with ignorance and stupidity on the part of the director.
They believe reality is boring.
The Revenant crossed the line further than most, and there's no reason for such blatant ignorance in the making of a movie.

stone, to answer your question, yes you can put desiccant packs in your BP. i do it and have done it for years.

Most of Clint Eastwood's movies are pretty darn accurate.
