Hello,

I read the kentucky pistols had a white front sight. I have this silver bladed sight from TVM. Was hoping someone here has some photo's of the fright sight and shape.

German silver is "white" as opposed to brass "Yellow". Both were used-makes no difference. The base can be brass, copper, or steel. The higher end wth the steep dropoff goes toward the rear of the barrel. Some sights have the rear end of the blade vertical and not sloping. I do not know what you mean by "white" sights unless you are referring to the Very Few that were made of bone-not too good for proper sighting.

correction, I re-read building the kentucky pistol and it states most had a silver bladed front sights and a stationary open rear sight.

What I have is a silver bladed from TVM. Now to find out what shape to make it.

Go to Jack Garners website or Track of the Wolf-Click on the section "sights" and look at the various shapes. File your blank to your choice. Be sure your dovetail on the barrel is slightly more narrow than the sight base so you can file the angles.

This above sight came from mr gardner. Came in today. I did do some digging tonight as for what the shape was, didnt' find to much but what i did find was very helpful. i will use a basic shape and polish it up nicely.
