i know it will hold over a pond of powder but i have no idea how many shot i will get. but it was very fun building it. just need to finish plug and get strap.

I get 2 1/3 fill up's from a pound of powder, I like yours,,
Mine is 0k for huntin, but goin out back and target shootin, It only last a few hours, then I got to come in and fill up and go back out,,, Life is rough,, huh ??

Hey Jax12... looks great! I take it this was your first project of the type... I looked at your other posts and saw that you were looking for a kit just 3 weeks ago! You've been busy over the past 3 weeks!? Congrats on a fine job!

Evenin
The strap is a Horse Reins, If you have any tack shops round ya they might even have a used section, Or if any one round you has horses, sea if they have any used stuff,,

Guess I shouldn't of mentioned your powder horn, I got your post moved,, sorry

Powder horn, not specific to shooting Precussion guns.

Nice rifle & horn, you're talented! I just visited ebay.com and typed the words "leather reins" in the search box. There were 10 pages of leather reins and horse tack leather, some very inexpensive. If cheap leather reins are what you are looking for, ebay is the ticket!!

Hobbles: You didn't get his post moved. I moved it simply because I am the moderator for the Precussion Forum and I thought it belonged here.
Although the rifle is precussion, the general way the post was going was towards the powder horn so I thought it would be more appropriate if it was over here where all the Precussion and the Flintlock shooters could see it.
Based on the number of replys, I thin Ah dun good.

:)

Get yourself some leather and make one, you'll have a lot of fun doing it and you'll have a great deal of pride using it, leather work is very easy and a great way to keep your costs down.

Hey ta jax 12 -

Keep up the good work !!

Hobbles,
Sometimes I'm like a racehorse with blinders on. I've been buying horn straps and throwing away old leather reins when they start to crack with age.
Duhhh Huhhh

Darkhorse

That sounds like somethin I'd do,, If there is a wrong way of doin somethin,, give me time,, I'll find it,
