What are those bucks doing out in the daytime in Autauga county? The ones around Independence don't come out until after dark.
You are right! You never know, 98% of the time mine are like puppy dogs. But the other 2% of the time look out!Great job of saving those bees.
My brother and I have bees, at least he does, all of mine swarmed and left. I approach bees like a woman, you need to check their mood before you mess with them. I’ve seen days where I could walk through the bee yard and they don’t seem to know you’re there. Other days I can’t get within 20 yards of them without being stung. Interesting creatures.
So you suffer from nocturnal buck syndrome too. So do I.What are those bucks doing out in the daytime in Autauga county? The ones around Independence don't come out until after dark.
We actually seen10 different bucks Monday afternoon. I seen 5 and my youngest son seen 5. The most we have seen in one afternoon. They are still running together. We don't feed corn like everyone else does. So I think they will walk looking for food instead of waiting until dark and going to a feeder. Also we were hunting one particular buck, so Murphys Law kicked in and the other bucks knew they were safe. What are those bucks doing out in the daytime in Autauga county? Some of our European honey bees are darker. They vary quite a bit from hive to hive. Very interesting critters to have around!I may try to get them into a box. The bees looked a little darker , like they had more black on them.
The cure for that problem is plywood on the ground in front of the hive......shot with hundreds of roofing nails and left points up. A serious unwelcome mat for skunks. Been there. My hunting buddy kept a hive in his backyard. One morning , he observed a skunk sitting on the ground , at the entrance of the hive. The skunk would tap on the entrance , and attempt to stir up the bees to come out. When a bee would come to the entrance ,the skunk would grab it , and eat it. This can't be good for the hive. Can't remember what happened to the skunk ,but most likely my friend's squirrel rifle spoke to it. ......oldwood
Not quite. They were chased around a cotton patch by bees they couldn’t see but who saw them. And they lived happily ever after?
WOW, how in the world did you accomplish that !!Good news, not killer bees! But they will have a new home and not freeze to death. View attachment 177375View attachment 177376
I will relocate them to my house!
That's a tiny wagon to carry those big wax containers, lolI don't keep bees but a friend does. He gives me the combs and I extract the wax from them for lube and candles.
The bees did..And they lived happily ever after?
That's amazing! I've never seen anything like that.Good news, not killer bees! But they will have a new home and not freeze to death. View attachment 177375View attachment 177376
