Been working on this kit for some time, it is for a fowler raffle that our gun builders guild is working on.

I made all of the pieces that you see here,

The bag is 3-4 oz veg tanned cow hide hand stiched with Crawford waxed Linen Thread, stained with vinigar and iron and finished with polish, and measures 7"x6" with a 1" strap

The ball board is drilled .62 cal, Cherry and finished with Formby's Satin Finish Tung Oil.

The starter is Ebony finished with bees wax.

The shot pouch is oil tanned 6-7 oz hand stiched with Crawfords and holds right at a half pound of shot, the stopper is turned elk antler and also doubles as the shot measure throwing 1 1/8oz of shot.

The powder measure is turned cherry and ebony throwing a 65gr measured charge of powder.

The small blakened tin holds enough cards and wads for 6 shot loads, matched to the shot pouch.

Will make up one more tin to hold 6 round balls and related patching material.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

That tasteful, well-executed work is going to add lots to the outcome of the raffle. You're going to make someone real proud while significantly helping the guild.

Well done all around! :hatsoff:

Thanks to all for the compliments, they are much appreciated.

Stumpkiller,
As far as going out with less gear, I agree completely. When I got involved in muzzleloading there was a saddlemaker in the club that made and sold bags, when I bought one from him I had it full of stuff. Recently I have noticed that I have this large bag and almost nothing in it, not anymore, I made myself a nice small double bag and I like it.

Brownbear,
I am going to purchase tickets just for the odd chance I'll get my gear back :hmm: , The fowler is right handed so will do me no good. The funny thing is, this raffle will most likely be won by an individual that will hang the whole kit on the wall and never shoot it.

I am actually a oddball of sorts, I am right handed in all but the shooting, left eye dominant.

This came about because at the ripe ol age of 4 my first shooting lesson was from a left hander and I was not capable at the time of supporting the rifle without help, it stuck.

Thanks Again to all for the comments.

Thanks Again,

I will be making up more of the shot pouches, I can see a real demand for them within the club. I'm gonna make one for myself next.
