A question for those more experienced with deer bones: I am putting together my 3rd knife, a Damascus steel dagger, deer leg handle, and I was wanting to use the knee cap of the deer as the hilt. This requires cutting a 1/8" thick by 1" wide channel for the blade. Is there any preperation of the bone that I should do.
