I'm making a scabbard for a knife I built from scratch which looks kind of like a ram's head knife. Am also making flat salt, pepper and ceyanne pepper horns. I'm wanting to make a simple leather scabbard but not sure how to connect to belt or sash. And then not sure how to make the pour ends of the horns and such. Any pictures you could share would be great. Am striving for about an 1800's time frame.

Thanks,

Sandhiler

Our salt and pepper horns just have both ends plugged and a simple stopper on the top end. To use, just pull the stopper and shake a bit onto your hand and sprinkle around as needed.

Or you can make them like a small rum horn but without the vent and the pour hole in one of the plugs

Thought is that many of the small "priming horns" are really salt horns, and they do show up in artworks as such, e.g. Mount's "Farmers Nooning."
