Does anybody know what L&R lock will fit the GPR with little or no modification?

None. The GPR lock has a coil mainspring and the replacement doesn't you will have to remove some wood in the lock mortice to let the mainspring fit. Not a really hard job.

No L&R replacment. They do have a RPL line of locks that will replace it. The early model Lyman uses the RPL #03-P Percussion lock or RPL #03 Flintlock and the late model Lyman uses the RPL #05-P Percussion lock & RPL # 05 Flintlock, to the best of my knowledge.

Here is a photo of my Lyman Deerstalker with an RPL 05 Lock made by L&R.The original Lock was not much so I bought and installed this lock with very little modifications.

I recently purchased a Lyman Trade rifle stock and lock and added a GM IBS barrel to it. It was my first flintlock and I have gone through a bit of a learning curve figuring out how to best use it, but with my limited experirnce, I really can't find any major fault with the lock. After I figured out the proper amount of prime to use, how and when to clean the pan and vent and that the flint works best with the bevel down, the lock has performed flawlessly for a couple of hundred shots, so far.

I too know of people that swear by the Lyman Lock.I just couldn't do anything with that particular one.I could get more spark from a wet book of matches. :m2c:
No matter ,I now have this particular one for sale in the classifieds.
Flintlocking is just not my cup of tea. :results:
