heard a number of times lately, rumors are the May Lancaster Longrifles shoot held this year at Muddy Run,may...MAY, be held back at the original site in Lancaster next year?? gees I hope thats true! that was the best shootin lil vous I've been too..anyone heard this? true maybe? I hope!

hate ta ruin yer day RC but the Lancaster shoot is NOT changing back to the old site. As River Rat said its April 29 to May3rd at Muddy run. I just got off the phone with Danny's wife(he runs the event) n she said they wished they could figure out who keeps starting these rumors, it happened last year too. The web site is Lancastercountylongrifles.webs.com if ya want to check on tyhe most up to date info so far. the shooting at the Muddy Run site is usually run by the same folks that ran it at the old site with some new twists included to keep it fresh. If ya havent been to Muddy Run ya ought to try n come down to the event, River Rat will back me up as to how beautiful the site is and all the stuff scheduled you can do. take care n if ya hear of people spreading rumors about the event please let us know so we can deal with it, thanks YMHS Birdman

Well Birdman & River, I thank for the info,,,and i've been to muddy run,for the lancaster event and some easterns..i really don't think theirs any comparison between the old lancaster event and the muddy run event..shooting wise..muddy run is a nice place, but i go to a vous mostly to shoot..(OR put on one..before it gets suggested) i've been disappointed with the shoot programs in the past and haven't heard anythings improved a bunch.. anyways was hopin..guess not.. :(

RC, I can't comment on the old place, I've never been there. I like the camping, people and shooting. I am only in my third year of going to these events so maybe I haven't seen the Promised Land yet.

well, really sorry you missed out then! they had a separate primitive campsite, then the range..w/ public access, then the sutlers area out front..plus modern campin in the parkin lot..(i think) they had a woodswalk..self scoring, about 27+ stations..and you could go thru it daily! range was paper targets shoot to your hearts content,,saturday afternoon they had a 4 person team stake shoot..(which you werelucky if you could get in! and same time as that had a chiken bar-b-que(w/public invited) ought see the crowd at the stake shoot! :shocked2: they had a runnin deer target after that ,,an over the log shoot....a cool expedition contest(lucky if ya get in that one too!) plus..showers.plus if ya didn't feel like cookin in camp had a feedin shack out by the sutlers.. and a bunch of people..big bunch! it was a great time,,if i coulda only went to one vous a year that would've been it..!dang miss that!~ :hmm: aww River, wished ya been there!
