Hi, got given 5kg's worth of diving belt weights. I'll try some of the "tests" for hardness, but, has anyone used this for casting round balls?

Before I found pure lead wire, I thought of trying to find some for the lead. These are old ones with no plastic covering. I mentioned this to some friends and one gave me the weights. I'll use cement the day I need weights for deep water... :rotf: Thanks

I found an assortment a while ago at a guarage sale, 60#. Some were very soft lead that I could dig into with my thumb nail. some very hard. That tells me these things are made out of what ever is available at the time. There have been other postings on this topic in the past.

I'm a diver too, been years since I've been but my C card is good for now on.
I bought molded weights for my belt, scrap lead is around 1/10 the cost of belt weights.
