I've read where the user soaked a patch with Krol and scrubbed the bore then let it sit for some amount of time (don't remember how long) then using steel wool or "chore boy" wrapped around a wire brush scrubbed out the loosened lead particles. I never tried it so this method could be a bunch of BS but it's worth a try.
