Sidecar: Good for you! I haven't had my forges running since I moved last spring. I have a charcoal forge with hand-cranked antique Champion blower, and a propane forge.
Seeing your photos makes me want to get out and mash some hot metal.
Good on you for running a coal forge.

That's great! I am just starting too, you are lucky to have such a good learning opportunity. I know Tillers from their excellent work in supporting sustainable farming in the developing world...and for their advocacy of draft animal use in small scale agriculture.
My shop is getting closer to being usable...coal forge and a small propane forge that i can take with me when I'm shoeing horses.
Good luck and have fun!

Nice work Mr. Carr....Don't forget to join ABANA! Very useful info in their monthly pubs.

There is a HUGE amount of serious smithing happening in the midwest, with lots of educational opportunities.
