anyone ever made their own..was wondering if any experience on the board, stitching ,painting and sealing ???let me know...
 
used to help out a leather worker years back n sewed up a couple of them. It's a lot of stiching for sure. All the seams up the sides, several sets around the bottom, moldeing the bottom to fit inside the body of the bucket, a small dia. rope for a stiffener around the top rim as well as the handle. After all that ya need to seal the inside we used bees wax, and the outside but do yer outside design before ya seal it. All that n they didn't really hold all that much water. Most were made as prizes or gifts. Lots a work but kool , just a few thoughts, YMHS Birdman
