I've recently acquired a bunch (about 5 Lbs or so) of what seems to be good quality leather.
It is old & mildly "funky" but with a bit of either neatsfoot oil or neutral shoe polish It softens up nicely.
The kicker is that every single piece is the same small size so I'm looking for a few projects to let me use this stuff & keep my idle hands busy at the same time.
The pieces are all 9 3/4 x 3 5/8" about 0.051" thick & the colors are pretty varied.

I've made a powder flask carrier of the belt & my next project is a ball bag, so I'm off to a good start but Ideas will be a big help.

I'm not into re-enacting so much as shooting & the only PB firearm I have is the 1858 Remington in .44 cal.

Got any Knives? They probably need new leather sheaths. How about a cap pouch to go with the Remmy & flask holder. Small scraps after your done with larger projects can become leather cappers, They don't work well on revolvers but are good trade & gift items for other shooters.

Folded in half they're going to be just about the right size for a drawstring ball bag. You'll be amazed how many will fit in a bag that size.

Sewing two together gives you a bigger bag. I agree that there's lots of potential for knife sheaths, folded lengthwise.

Might have to trim them a bit, but they'd make good inner and outer pockets on a bag build.

Nothing traditional about them, but I've been real happy with little belt pouches that hold a loading block. The leather I started with was just about that size.

You'd have to shorten them a bit, but you have the makings for some really nice wallets, too. Come to think of it, I made a tobacco pouch that's about the size of the pieces, but you'd need to sew two together to make one big as mine.

How about a frizzen cover? Or maybie some pieces for holding the flint in place.

How about a flint wallet or a tool pouch? You can make some very strong coffee and redye the leather.
