That might be a good way to go. If you buy from a pawn broker, gun shop, selling used guns, etc, However, I feel alot of these guns are there because someone couldn't sight them in. I mean a newbe to the BP world that has no knowledge or experience with muzzleloader guns and simply get frustrated and quit. With that said, it can be to your advantage to buy from these sources as long as you have some experience and are willing to do the work necessary to sight in the rifle, and bring the shooting accuracy up to your expectations. I believe this is where the enjoyment lies in muzzleloader shooting myself.
Once I have a Muzzleloader shooting to my demands, I am ready to move on and take on another gun that is "junk" and simply won't hit the bullseye, and bring it into a respectable group. Not that I don't want to keep a fine shooting muzzleloader in my cabinet for hunting, i will always keep several, but, its the trip not the destination that keeps me going, myself.
