Yep, that Crockett's a fine squirrel rifle but is not the one I tried to post so I'll try again.

A Mike Brooks .25......... :hatsoff:

Damn... I need a 25. :hatsoff:

This is my one and only small bore. It`s a little .32cal CVA Squirrel Rifle. I picked it up cheap a few years back. It was a sloppily assembled and finished kit rifle but a good shooter. I have since refinished it and changed the sights to a more traditionally styled elevation adjustable rear and silver blade front setup.

Loosely copied George Schroyer, 42" GM barrel, .32 cal. I use 20 grs. 3f, .315 ball and .010 patch lubed with mink oil. Good shooter.
Now converted to flint.

Do a search there has been much talk about mink oil. I don't use it exclusively, but more than other lubes. I have been experimenting with olive oil and Crisco, though.

Here is two-three hours worth of walking the perimiter of a Hazelnut (Filbert) orchard a few years ago with a .58 FDC in .58 bore using 1 1/4 oz of #6 shot with two op cards and one os card, shots were 10-15 tds and often the critters were running/jumping from tree oo tree. I could have taken more but limited my take to what I could eat for breakfast that morning, creamed Squirrel on toast. Whats for Breakfast Grandpa....Yum..Yum.
