I had an issue with a chambers. Sent it in and he fixed it himself!!
Me too I did A dumb thing when I browned mine and got a screw stuck. Jim fixed it, and gave me a page on what not to do, since Id done most of them.

But Ive been told the main difference between Chambers and L&R is that L&R locks you can get parts most anywhere, and Chambers you have to get from Chambers only.
Being that I only had to send it in for stupidity 20 odd years ago. Its worked flawlessly ever since.

How about lock time between the two? When I bought the Chambers it was the fastest lock at that time in 2005. Kinda wonder if anything has changed.

Ron Long of Denver was the original maker of these locks. Sold the rights to them to Tom Faux when he quit to concentrate on Ballard rifles. Was a dispute over proprietorship between Tom and Davis. Have had experience with R. E. Davis left hand Hawken flint lock kit and finished Twigg right hand flintlock. Holes improperly spotted and drilled on Hawken lock plate. Had to do a lot of grinding on sear bridle which jutted out past the lock plate. Twigg lock frizzen would not spark with a darn. Sold the finished Hawken lock at a loss and re tempered Twigg. Had not problem with a first generation Hawken left hand percussion lock kit put out by Ron. Bought another frizzen for the Twigg from Track of the Wolf. New Davis locks from Log Cabin may be fine. I would not hesitate buying any lock from them as they are reputable and would address any complaints.

The fastest locks I have used are the early Ketland and the late ketland by Chambers. I never used any Kibler locks because he won't give me any..... :ghostly: You'd think he'd send me some products for review? LOL....

Are you aware that Mr Kibler practices a form of denial cruelty against the Left handed Muzzle loader Shooting fraternity ?
