I am going to make the knapsack in Mark Baker's Pilgrims Journey. I want to line it with Pillow ticking and maybe add some pockets. Do I just lay the ticking against the outside pieces and sew it together or do I make a pouch and put it inside the knapsack?

The easiest way that I've done similar things is for you to cut out the different parts to your knapsack and liner exactly the same.

I almost always sew my stuff inside out so you don't see any exposed raw edges

It helps A LOT to use pins to hold the liner and knapsack pieces in place while you're sewing them all together.

Then again I'm not that great of a sewer, but if I can do this I imagine you can as well.

Good luck

There's this stuff you can buy that will stick the lining to the outside material. I've seen it in a spray can or in a roll that that looks like white fabric. One irons this on the material, it's stick when hot and sticks the two halves together. Either of these methods work great when lining a bag or jacket. With out the adhesive, the lining flops around and isn't very tidy. Of course one could also simply quilt the two materials together to bind them.
