Anybody know which weighs more...the Rice 38" "D" profile swamped .58cal. barrel, or the Rice 42" "C" profile swamped .58cal. barrel?

Thanks for any info.

It's irrelevant now...but was for me a complicated situation. I have a .54cal. Buck's Co. kit ordered and wanted to change to .58cal..because I'd rather have a .58cal. and figured it would be lighter than .54cal.
However, I want the lightest swamped barrel. Rice offers a 38" C profile .58cal. problem is he only offers it in a .42" barrel...the .58cal. 38" is offered in D profile and just found out the D profile won't work in the stock. So my choice would be either a C profile .58cal. in 42" barrel or a C profile .54cal in 38" barrel and through my questimations using TOW's Colerain weights and profiles I came up with the .58cal. in 42" C profile is not only longer than I would like but about 3oz. heavier than the 38" C profile .54cal...so I'm stickin with the .54cal I guess.

Why not just go ahead with the .54 and have it reamed out and rerifled to .58. You could change over to rd. bottom deep rifling and coned muzzle.unless you already have these features in your .54.Ed Rayl did that for me on my Marshall gun for,I believe, about $100.00 when I went from .58 to .62.
just a thought :m2c:

That is a good idea..It looks like that would be the only way to get a swamped 38" .58cal. barrel in a C profile...unless I could get it special order.
I have decided...I think..to just go with the .54cal. in 38" C. However on down the road that's a good option to know about and I appreciate the info.
