Just about finished with this one. 24 bore X 26" tapered round barrel. Maple stock from a blank.
Steel trim. Delux Siler lock. 4 lb. 3 oz. with sling....Tom

I think it will handle well.

I have a modern (break action, exposed hammer) single shot 20 gauge that's darn near the exact same length as this and it's a nice quick pointing gun for upland birds.
 
One day I plan on building one like that. :thumbsup: Too many irons in the fire right now.
