So this little horn was just sitting there on the shelf for many years. I have a brass primer pan dispenser, but thought it might be neat to have a little primer horn For my old TC Hawken kit I am finishing up.

I am going to keep it very plain and simple, for pocket carry. Still thinking out the plug, and spout stopper plug. Might even dye the thing.

a bit more filing, and it will be ok.

I’ve been whacking away at this as time permitted.
Because I meant this to be a pocket or pouch horn, I sawed off the long extension on the butt plug, meant for a strap.
Sawed off clean, it left a Dime sized round extension from the plug. I thought of the verse-“I, Powder, with my Brother Ball, hero-like, do conquer All”.
I decided to make “Brother Ball” on the horn.
I am used to carving softer wood! That stuff requires very sharp knives and chisels.
at any rate, my small priming horn is about done. I will let it rest a while before I polish it up.
I would really like to know what kind of cordage or string was used to connect stopper to horn. It’s been a fun project! I used one of my old paintings as a background to somewhat hide the mess.
