Do you walker shooters recommend 2f or 3f black powder? I know the uberti walkers use the #10 caps. I am also seeing alot of guys using .457 balls instead of .454...........whats your secret load ? :0 Thanks , Craig

My brother uses 3fg in his Walker made by Armi San Marco. Charges of 50, 55, or 60 grains and #11 caps give minute-of-bowling pin accuracy at 50 yards. Ball diameter was .457 because that is what we had at the time.

Yep. 50 gr fffg under a lubed felt wad, then a .457 round ball.

50 gr should give good accuracy, just have to resolve POA/POI. Consistent accuracy with 60 gr is hard to believe.

I put 35 grains of 3F in the Armi San Marco walker I just acquired and it seemed way too hot.
It was dislodging the loading ram with every shot.
Although the spring lever was loose and I have since penned it tight.
The pistol had never been fired, but was dry fired too many times and the nipples seem to be flattened down so that it will only fire after they have been hit once. Cleaned up the nipples, only to find the trigger spring broke when I dissembled it.
Have ordered a new spring and hand assembly. Looking forward to shooting it. However I don't think I will use 50 grains of 3f.

 I use 40grain/volume Pyrodex P with a 0.454" ball. I love it.

PS: I save my "real" black powder for my flintlocks.

the trigger spring cured the indexing problem.
I canceled the "hand assembly"
Polished the nipples  LOVE doing that
Works well, but only seems to like Remington #11 caps..
Have a wide assortment of caps.. CCI 10's and 11's. RWS #11's.
The remmi's worked the best.. now try to find them ??
I am still not going to load heavy powder loads in it.
