The ML Forum has a very nice link showing various sizes. The .54 needs a 35/64 bit and the .62 takes a 5/8 bit. Go under the FORUMS, then to ARTICLES, CHARTS, LINKS. Then under LINKS go to bottom of page and it shows LOADING BALL BLOCK DRILL BIT SIZES. A nice quick reference chart provided by the ML Forum.

I like to tapper my loading block holes. You can make an easy to use taper sanding rod from a dowel rod. Put it in a lathe, or even a drill and taper the rod with a sanding block. Then cut a slot into it and wrap sand paper around the rod holding it by the slot. You can fine adjust the size by inserting pieces of paper in the wrap. :hmm:

The few loading blocks I have made I drilled undersized then sanded to the size I wanted with a sandpaper wrapped dowel...................watch yer top knot..............
