I had posted it on another forum but had quite a few answers.
I was wondering if those here who have used a chambers late ketland, had the bolster on the lock completely flat from front to back, or if the bolster was a tad thinner in the rear, as shown in this picture.

And the answer is..........
My large Siler flint was on a taper, narrower in the rear. I filed it parallel to the plate. The reason I did was that this rifle will use both a cap and flintlock. The cap lock had no taper, so they fit different before the work to the bolster.
