I have a Japanese made lock on my old Miroku flinter that i would like to have someone either reharden the frizzen on so it sparks reliably or make a new frizzen for it. Question is would it be cheaper to do that or to buy an L&R Trade lock for $196? And who would be a good person to send my lock to to have it fixed if that is the better option? Thanks for any info.

Going from a biplane to a jet will be noticeable.
Dixie has piles of frizzens to be had.
Everyone says the L&Rs are real good locks

Finding a lock that fits the mortise, lines up with the touch hole, trigger, etc. may be problematic. Suggest a "frizzen fix" first. Lots cheaper, gets to the heart of the problem without getting to the heart of your billfold. Reharden, Reface, or Replace.

Some will sell parts that are honest-to-goodness exactly what you need. Others will sell, hoping you'll not return when they don't fit. Been there, not fun. Enjoy !
